Worked with the marketing and business team to rework a comprehensive redesign of Champion Energy’s customer billing system, modernizing the template for both residential and commercial customers while addressing the specific needs of an older demographic through enhanced readability and traditional payment options.
Goal
Redesign Champion Energy’s billing template to modernize customer experience while accommodating the needs of their 50-70 year old customer base. Create a user-friendly design that improved readability, provided valuable energy usage insights, and supported traditional payment methods while maintaining brand consistency across residential and commercial applications
Approach
- Conducted demographic-focused design approach, prioritizing font size, line width, and readability considerations for older customers
- Integrated Champion Energy’s branding standards throughout the new layout design
- Incorporated educational elements including usage graphs, charts, and energy-saving tips to help customers understand consumption patterns
- Designed perforated payment coupon at bottom of bill to accommodate check-writing customers who prefer mail-in payments
- Created comprehensive template system in Adobe InDesign that could serve both residential and commercial customer segments
- Balanced modern design trends with accessibility needs and traditional payment preferences
